Design Thinking for Early Stage MedTech Founders

Design Thinking for Early Stage MedTech Founders

Innovative solutions only succeed when they solve the right problem. In this one‑day Expert Class, participants are introduced to the core principles and practical steps of Design Thinking, with a strong focus on diagnosing real user needs before committing to technology development.

Through a combination of short lectures by Jettie Hoonhout, Medical Strategy Officer at Vital Wear, and Christelle Harkema, Senior Usability Expert, hands‑on exercises, and real‑world examples, participants will learn how to uncover unmet needs within (clinical) workflows. They will translate insights into meaningful ideas and rapidly iterate through ideation, prototyping, and user testing. This approach helps teams increase adoption, usability, and impact of their solutions—especially in MedTech, but equally applicable to other domains.

By the end of the day, participants will have a practical, human‑centred toolkit that they can immediately apply within their own startup or innovation team to build evidence‑driven solutions with a higher chance of real‑world success.
