Expert Class on Mentoring and Personal development

Expert Class on Mentoring and Personal development

Having a mentor can have a significant impact on the growth and success of your company. Research has demonstrated that 70% of SMEs that receive mentoring survive for five years or more! Well-known founders of the world’s leading companies have reached out to mentors in their early days, and often still do.

A mentor can provide an objective perspective and advice on challenging business decisions, networking opportunities, accessing resources and avoiding mistakes. This Expert Class will provide insights into how collaboration between young life sciences entrepreneurs and mentors is established and works in practice. Besides mentoring on business aspects, the personal development of a life science entrepreneur is also covered, such as developing leadership, communication skills and problem-solving.

The expert class program is set up in an interactive way such that the participants are asked to present in 3 slides their company and partnering related question(s) for the experts. The experts will give you feedback on your questions.

When Pedro started as General Manager for Centocor (now a subsidary of Johnson & Johnson) he  managed 35 people. During his 15 years of leadership, the company expanded to 1,200 employees with a $3 billion turnover. The experience taught him a lot about himself, leadership and about running a biotech company. He would like to share his experience with other executives who want to do more for their company. Personal development not only brings more to the individual but to the company in which they lead also.

As a first-time founder, Varsha definitely needed a mentor during her entrepreneurial journey. Fortunately, she ended up with Bram Schermer through an accelerator. He really is a top mentor. Varsha is sure it is nice and helpful for most first-time founders to have a mentor and she is happy to share her experience during this Expert Class.

Furthermore, Varsha tells how she has been working on her personal development that helped her in improving her role as the CEO of IMcoMET.

Simone gives a short presentation on the mentoring network currently being set up by Health~Holland. What will the program offers you and how will it connect you to the mentor with the best fit. She also hopes to get valuable feedback from participants during this Expert Class.
