Companies that integrate IP strategy early and align it closely with their R&D activities and funding milestones significantly improve their chances of survival, growth, and a successful exit. In the life sciences sector, patents are far more than legal protections. They are strategic business assets that shape how research is conducted, how companies secure investment, and how innovations ultimately reach patients and the market.
This Expert Class will provide practical insights into navigating the complexities of intellectual property in one of the most demanding and highly regulated industries. The session will explore how to build and maintain a strong life sciences IP portfolio and examine the strategies that startups use to create a defensible competitive position around their technology and business. Participants will learn how effective IP management can maximize competitive advantage, attract investment, foster innovation, and enable valuable partnerships.
The Expert Class is designed to be highly interactive. Participants will be asked to prepare their casus. During the session, the expert panel will provide tailored feedback, practical guidance, and recommendations to help participants strengthen their IP strategy and address their key concerns.
Hajo Kraak, Patent Attorney and Partner at V.O. Patents & Trademarks, will be joining this expert Class to discuss intellectual property strategies for life science startups.
